- Cardboard tube (paper towel or toilet paper tube will work)
- Red yarn
- White pom poms
- Hot glue gun
- Scissors
How to Put Together the Santa hat ornament craft:
Take the red yarn and cut it into several 6-inch pieces. Then, cut about an inch off the end of the cardboard tube.
Take a piece of yarn and fold it in half to create a loop on one end. Pull the loop through the center of the cardboard tube.
You should have the loop on the inside and the ends of the yarn on the outside as pictured above. Doing this will wrap the yard around the tube so that it secures it in place.
Repeat the process and continue wrapping the yarn around the cardboard tube until all of the cardboard is covered.
To make the top of the hat, flatten out the yarn. It doesn’t have to be perfect! Then, take another piece of yarn wrap it around the bunch and tie it in a knot. This will pull the bunch together so that we can finish our hat.
To finish off the Santa hat ornament craft, just trim the extra ends off with scissors so we can put the pom poms on.
Use the hot glue gun to attach the white pom poms to the base of the hat. Then, add one pom pom to the top of the hat.
