Holiday Fudge Recipes You Should Be Making
With the holidays around the corner, it’s time to start thinking about which holiday fudge recipes you want to make.
In my younger years, I was not much of a fudge maker. I grew up watching my great grandmother and grandmother spend a day in the kitchen making a variety of different fudge flavors.
As I got older, I wanted to continue the tradition but for the life of me, I couldn’t get the fudge to set up right. With years of practice, I finally figured out the secret to making fudge the right way and was able to start creating my own holiday fudge recipes.
What is the secret to good holiday fudge recipes?
Here are some tips and tricks I have learned throughout the years. They helped me a lot so hopefully they will help you too!
- Be sure it gets to the right temperature when you are cooking. This is a common mistake for anyone who has trouble getting their fudge to set.
- Use a candy thermometer. Unless you are an experienced fudge maker, get yourself a candy thermometer. You won’t regret it. This will help you get the right temp every time.
- Don’t over-stir. As the fudge mixture heats up, it is important to stir it a lot so that the sugar dissolves. However, you don’t want to over-stir. Also, stop stirring so much once it’s hit the correct temp.
