Farmhouse Shovel Wreath DIY

Get ready for spring with this easy DIY farmhouse shovel wreath! Made from Dollar Tree supplies, it’s an affordable way to show some love to your door or to give as a gift.

In addition to this being farmhouse style, it could probably work for a beach themed craft or a fall door decoration.

For me, it’s more springy so we like to hang it in March when the warmer weather is trying to make its way in. Unfortunately, this year, it seems like winter just wants to stick around. Maybe hanging this farmhouse shove wreath on the door will help spring move in quicker.

We’re huge on making our own affordable decorations. It’s fun getting a little crafty to create something. Plus, you get a one-of-a-kind design so it’s fun to show off.

This farmhouse shovel wreath can also be placed indoors. You can hang it in the kitchen or living room to bring in some color. It only takes a few supplies, all of which can be found from the Dollar Tree. It’s easy to put together and it’ll look great on any door.

DIY Farmhouse Shovel Wreath Supplies:

• Dollar Tree Kids Plastic Shovel (any color because we are going to paint it)
• Dollar Tree Eucalyptus
• Dollar Tree Burlap Ribbon
• Dollar Tree White Gerber Daisey Bunch
• Hot Glue Gun
• Black Spray Paint
• Dollar Tree Twine
• Zip tie
• Scissors

How to Make the Farmhouse Shovel Wreath:

Start by applying 2 coats of black spray paint the to shovel. You can try one coat, but we had to put 2 coats on so that you didn’t see the original color coming through.

While the paint on the shovel is drying, take 12 inches of the burlap lace ribbon and make the bow. I just created 2 loops and used a zip tie to secure it in the middle and then cut the ends of the bow to the length I wanted.

Once the shovel is completely dry, add a line of glue and add a couple of pieces of eucalyptus to both sides.

Then, add some glue to the bow and add one of the daisies.

Next, add some hot glue to the backside of the bow and press firmly onto the shovel.

Add a dab of hot glue to the top of the shovel and wrap the twine around. We covered the entire handle with twine.

Once you have it covered, cut the twin and use a dab of glue to secure it into place.

Now, you can just hang it on the door to welcome guests. They’ll love the cute little farmhouse shovel wreath and you can tell them just how easy it was to make!
