Monster Rice Krispie Treats

Monster Rice Krispie Treat Balls

Makes 12-24 treats, depending on how big you make the rice krispie balls.

Ingredients needed:

  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 10 oz package of regular or mini marshmallows
  • 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
  • 10 oz package of ghoul’s mix M&Ms (but any M&Ms will do)
  • Candy eyeballs
  • Additional 1 tablespoon butter

How to make monster rise krispie treat balls:

  1. Melt 3 tablespoons of butter over low heat in a large saucepan.
  2. Add in the marshmallows, and stir until they are fully melted.
  3. Remove the pan from the heat and add cereal and M&Ms. Stir until combined.
  4. Butter your hands, then grab handfuls of the mixture and form a ball. Add eyeballs, and press them in slightly so they will stay put. Set on a baking sheet or tray.
  5. You may need to re-grease your hands a time or two throughout the process so that the mixture won’t stick to your hands.
  6. We let them cool in the refrigerator until we are ready to serve or they have set enough that they won’t fall apart.

The number of treats you have depends on how big you want them. Larger handfuls will make larger rice krispie balls.

If you are making it for a party or holiday, try adding some fun-themed sprinkles into the mixture! They have some really fun purple and green sprinkles that would work for Halloween. Green and red would be great for Christmas and pastel colors would be good for Easter.
