How to Make these Paw Print Rice Krispie Treats on a Stick
This recipe makes approximately 12 paw print rice krispie treat pops.
- Parchment paper
- Baking sheet
- 12 heavy duty straws
- Disposable Icing/Piping Bags
- 3-inch Paw Print Cutter
- 6 Cups Rice Krispies Cereal
- 1 16 oz bag Marshmallows
- ¼ Cup (1/2 a stick) of Butter
- 1/2 Cup white candy melts
- Nonstick spray
- food coloring (this is electric blue food coloring but you can use any color to fit your theme)
Lightly grease a parchment-lined baking sheet with nonstick spray and set it aside.
Melt the marshmallows in thirty-second increments with the butter until it is well combined. Stir after 30 seconds to make sure the marshmallows don’t stick to the bowl.
Add in two drops of food coloring. Mix well and then add in the crispy rice cereal.
Once fully mixed, pour the rice krispie treats on a parchment-lined baking sheet and press until even. Keep the mixture thick enough so that you can use the paw print cookie cutter.
Tip: To easily roll out the rice krispie mixture, place another piece of parchment paper sprayed with nonstick spray and place it on top. Then, use a rolling pin to flatten the rice krispie mixture.
Let the rice krispies set for about 30 min. You can also put them in the refrigerator until they are completely set.
Use the paw print cookie cutter to make the paw-shaped rice krispy treats and set them aside.
Melt the candy melts in 30-sec increments. Stirring each time until there are no lumps and it is completely melted.
Dip one end of the straw into the melted candy and then insert it into the bottom of the paw print.
Add the remaining melted chocolate to a piping bag and pipe on 4 circles for the paw and a triangle in the center to make the puppy paws.
Place them in the fridge for about 10 minutes so that the chocolate and the rice krispie pops are set.
