Daddy Long Legs Spider Dollar Tree Craft for Kids
An easy Halloween craft for kids, this daddy long legs spider craft is fun for kids of all ages.
Remember when we put together the paper plate spider craft? That got me thinking that maybe we could do some other spider crafts so we went with this daddy long legs spider activity.
We already had some leftover pipe cleaners and googly eyes that we used so I went looking through our craft bin to see what else we could use. I found pom poms which I thought would be something good we could use for the spider’s head.
Daddy Long Legs Spider Dollar Tree Craft
Super cute right?! You can use this pipe cleaner spider craft as a fun Halloween project or when learning more about spiders.
What you need:
Please note: This craft makes one spider, if you are making multiple daddy long-legged spiders, you’ll want to get more supplies. For instance, double for 2, triple for 3, etc.
- 4 black pipe cleaners
- 1 large orange pom pom
- 1 small orange pom pom
- 2 googly eyes
- Glue
How to put the long-legged spiders together:
- Line up all the pipe cleaners on a flat surface. Find the center of the pipe cleaners and twist them together a couple of times so that they stay. These are our spider legs so spread the pipe cleaners out.
- Glue the large pom pom on the center of the pipe cleaners. We will glue the eyes on last so they don’t fall off.
- Glue the small pom pom to the front of the large pom pom to create the head.
- Glue the googly eyes on the front of the small pom pom.
- Bend each pipe cleaner leg in the middle to make the legs. Then, create the feet on the bottom by bending the end of each pipe cleaner flat.
Viola! Now we have a super easy-to-make daddy long leg spider that the kids can play with on Halloween.
