Hidden Veggie Meals for Picky Eaters
Throw in some of these hidden veggie meals for dinner so that picky eaters can eat healthier without even knowing it!
You know how it is when young kids find a veggie they don’t like. Like broccoli or cauliflower.. or when they just decide they won’t eat something because it has vegetables in it. It’s a pain! The dog ends up getting it or they sneak it in to their pockets so it looks like they ate it but really they didn’t.
You want kids to eat healthy and to eat more vegetables but you don’t want to be overbearing and too forceful with it. If you do, then they may never give anything a chance and it can result in meltdowns.
In our house, we solve this by making hidden veggie meals. These meals with hidden vegetables are perfect for picky eaters and those who “don’t like vegetables”. They sneak the veggies in so that they aren’t so noticeable.
Our Favorite Way to Sneak In Veggies
When it comes to vegetables, our secret to hidden veggie meals is shredding! Shredding, Shredding, Shredding! Shred those veggies until you can’t shred anymore and they will become nearly unnoticeable.
The other way we like to use veggies in hidden veggie meals is by mixing it with the meat. You can use ground beef, ground turkey, ground pork, or even chicken and mix in some mashed or pureed veggies. In fact, sometimes we will add some peppers or other veggies to our baked taco cheese stuffed meatballs.
