Construction Paper Bus Craft for Preschool Letter B Craft

Get ready for school with this fun construction paper bus craft! Perfect for pre-k or kindergarten aged children to learn the letter B.

Now that the 4th of July is over, it’s time to start thinking about getting back to the books and the schoolwork. Hopefully, you were able to print out the 4th of July activity pack over the summer and the kids had fun completing it!

Letter crafts are always a fun way for children to learn the alphabet. For this construction paper bus craft, the kids will be learning the letter B as they get ready for the new school year. This can be fun practice for learning the letter before they start their preschool or kindergarten year.

Construction Paper Bus Craft for Preschool Letter B Craft

Whether you are homeschooling or the kids are headed public school, this letter B craft is a fun way to get them ready for school.

B is for Bus Preschool Craft

To help learn the letter B, kids will be able to draw the letter B, trace the letter B, and cut the letter B from construction paper. Then, we will make a school bus out of the letter B and the kids can practice sounding out the letter and the word bus.

Supplies Needed for the Construction Paper Bus Craft:

  • Yellow, black, blue, red, and green construction paper
  • Scissors
  • Glue or Glue Stick

How to Make the Construction Paper Bus Craft

Cut a large letter B out of the yellow construction paper. You can have the kids draw and cut the letter B or you can do it for them.

Cut one thin strip, two rectangles, and two circles from the black construction paper. They don’t have to be perfect but if you want them to, you can use things around the house to trace and cut.

We used a ruler for the cutting so that the lines were straight.

Construction Paper Bus

Next, cut half a school house shape out of the red construction paper. Take the green paper and cut a two-inch strip. Glue the green construction paper to the bottom of the blue paper and glue the red house on the side of the blue paper.

Flip the letter B we cut out and glue the two rectangles to the back of the letter B. This will make our school bus windows. Turn the B over and glue it on top of the green strip of paper.

Glue the small black strip of paper over the top of the bus where the windows are.

Next, glue to the two black circles to the bottom of the bus to make the wheels. We put them right under the windows but you can space them our however you’d like.

That’s it! Our construction paper bus craft is complete.

Now that they have practiced sounding out, cutting, and drawing the letter B, they can recognize it when they see it. It can also help them learn how to write the capital letter B.
