Spider Books for Kindergarten and Preschool

Since it’s October, it’s Halloween, and spiders are everywhere, I figured now is the perfect time to bring up the topic of spiders. What better way to do that than to read some spider books for kindergarten?
As we learn more about spiders and read these spider books for kindergarten, we have some fun activities to go along with them.
Spider Books for Kindergarten
In addition to using these spider books as a way for kids to learn about them, we also plan on doing some fun spider crafts. There is a daddy long legged craft that we can make and a paper plate rocking spider.
To add some extra fun to learning about spiders, I want to have the kids make some cute and tasty Reese’s spider treats.
Kindergarten and Preschool Spider Books

1. Pete the Cat and the Itsy Bitsy Spider
Pete the Cat has offered to help the itsy bitsy spider as he climbs up the water spout.
One of our favorite spider books for kindergarten, it’s an adaptation of the fun sing a long song that we all know.
2. National Geographic Readers: Spiders
Full of amazing photography and factual information about spiders, this National Geographic book is a great learning resource.
Along with the information, kids will be able to look at colorful pictures of various kinds of spiders.
3. Spiders
Kids can follow along with Nic Bishop, a biologist who loves spiders, as he takes a look at some of the most amazing spiders in the world.
The book is full of information and amazing photos of spiders.
4. I’m Trying to Love Spiders
One of our favorite spider books for kindergarten, they will love seeing these arachnids in a whole new light.
Kids will learn from their awesomely excessive eight eyes to the seventy-five pounds of bugs a spider can eat in a single year.
5. Are You a Spider?
Kindergarten-aged students will love this spider book written by Judy Allen.
This is a great kindergarten spider book that will help kids learn and be more interested in spiders.
6. There’s a Spider in My Bathtub
Created by a teacher and someone who loves nature, this kindergarten spider book is a fun book to read.
Come along with an adorable little spider as he travels to a land of dinosaurs, flies head first into a meteor shower, and accidentally falls into a battle with a dragon!

Bestselling children’s author Kay de Silva presents “Spiders”. The book uses captivating illustrations, and carefully chosen words to teach children about the ‘humankind’s friend’.
