While there aren’t too many shark movies on Netflix, there are still a few that will give you an exciting adventure to follow. From classics that are well known to others that you may have never heard about, these shark movies on Netflix give you a thrilling adventure to enjoy.

Shark Tale

Shark Tale came out in 2004 and is still one of the most favorite shark movies on Netflix. While it probably wasn’t one of the most popular children’s movies, it was still loved by many. This is a great movie for kids to watch and you can serve up some fun shark cupcakes to enjoy with the movie! Or.. watch the movie when you are throwing a shark themed kids party.

Oscar (Will Smith), a lowly tongue-scrubber at the local Whale Wash, becomes a hero when he tells a great white lie. When his lie begins to unravel, Oscar teams up with an outcast vegetarian shark, Lenny (Jack Black), and his loyal friend Angie (Renée Zellweger) to help him stand up to the most feared shark in the water (Robert De Niro) and find his true place in the reef.

47 Metered Down Uncaged

Released back in 2017, “47 Meters Down is a survival horror movie. Definitely not one for the younger children! Those who are old enough to enjoy horror movies may find this thrilling.

The movie is about two sisters who are vacationing in Mexico. During their vacation, they get trapped in a shark cage at the bottom of the ocean. They have less than an hour of oxygen left to survive on and great white sharks circling nearby. To survive they must fight and get out of their alive.

Mako

Based on true events (the story of the Salem Express). Mako is an Egyptian shark attack movie that many will find interesting. The movie never received much attention, and many have still yet to see it.

Mako tells the story of eight divers who decide to go to the location where the Elsalam ship was sunk years ago. Their purpose in visiting the wreckage is to make a documentary. There, they face a lot of dangers and terrifying threats while exploring the sunken passenger ship.

Deep Blue Sea

Deep Blue Sea tells the story of a team of scientists researching a cure for Alzheimer’s disease. Their research is done in an underwater facility by using genetically engineered sharks.

However, a freak accident causes the engineered sharks to become much more aggressive and more intelligent. The team of scientist finds themselves trying to survive and escape their facility through the dangers and thrills.

Jaws

Probably one of the best and most memorable shark movies many would argue is the original Jaws movie. It came out in 1975 and has become a classic shark movie the whole family can get into.

A great white shark is terrorizing the beaches of Amity Island and it must be stopped. A team consisting of an oceanographer, a shark hunter, and a police chief must come up with a way to take the great white.

Jaws 2

Released in 1978, Jaws 2 is the sequel to the popular Jaws movie. The story takes place four years after the first deadly attack on the beaches of Amity Island when another great white shark finds its way to the area and threatens everyone in its path.

Jaws 3

Jaws 3 came out with a different style of shark threat. Instead of a great white shark threatening the beaches, a group from an underwater marine park goes out and tries to capture a baby great white.

As they try to capture the baby shark, they realize that the mother has invaded the closure and is ready to protect her young. She’s out for blood. Released in 1983, Jaws 3 wasn’t as big of a hit as the other shark movies in the Jaws series.

Jaws The Revenge

This sequel takes part in the Bahamas and follows the story of a woman by the name of Ellen Brody. It came out in 1987 and didn’t get as much credit as the other but is still a must-watch if you love shark thrillers.

Ellen’s late husband was attacked by a great white shark 10 years prior and she finds herself fighting the predator that is hunting her family.
