This patriotic ice cream brownie dessert is a fun red, white, and blue sundae dessert that kids and adults will love.
I love getting together with friends and family on the 4th of July. We always have so much fun cooking out on the grill, enjoying patriotic mini desserts, and watching the fireworks.
As the adults enjoy their small desserts and finger treats, the kids are often found enjoying their ice cream and playing in the pool.
One of our all-time favorite desserts is some type of ice cream and brownie dessert. Luckily, this patriotic ice cream brownie sundae is easy to make, customizable, and perfect for any holiday or celebration.
Serve this patriotic ice cream brownie dessert for the 4th of July, Memorial Day, Veterans Day, and even Election Day!
For the 4th of July, we use our favorite boxed brownie mix topped with vanilla ice cream, sprinkles, and whipped topping. You can use any kind of brownie mix you’d like or a homemade brownie recipe. You can also use your favorite flavor of ice cream.

How to Make this Red White and Blue Brownie Sundae Dessert
- 1 box Chocolate Brownie Mix (family size), made according to box
- Ice Cream of your choice
- Whipped Topping
- Red, White, and Blue Sprinkles
- Round Cookie Cutter (you can also use a star or other patriotic cookie cutters)
Simply make the brownie mix as instructed on the box.
Let the brownies cool down a bit and then use a cookie cutter to create the shapes. For this, we like to use just a simple circle shape, but you can use a star or any other shape you’d like.
Top with your favorite ice cream, whipped cream, and some red, white, and blue sprinkles.
Patriotic Ice Cream Brownie Dessert Tips
Can I use premade brownies? Of course! If you want to go super easy, just purchase some premade brownies instead of making your own. Going this route is great when you need a last-minute dessert.
Can I serve the brownies warm? Yes! If you want a warm brownie with ice cream on top, you can do that. The ice cream just melts a little faster but it creates this yummy, almost gooey, goodness.
Can I use any kind of ice cream? You can! Substitute the vanilla ice cream used in this brownie sundae recipe with your favorite ice cream flavor. The kids like to mix it up and use strawberry, chocolate, and mint sometimes.

PATRIOTIC ICE CREAM BROWNIE DESSERT SUNDAE
Ingredients
- 1 box Chocolate Brownie Mix (family size), made according to box
- Ice Cream of choice
- Whipped Topping
- Red, White, and Blue Sprinkles
- Round Cookie Cutter (can also use star cookie cutter)
Instructions
- Mix brownie mix in a bowl with ingredients according to package ( adding water, oil, and eggs).
- Pour batter into a sprayed 9×13 baking dish bake according to the box.
- Let brownies cool and use a circle cookie cutter to cut out rounds.
- For each serving, use a brownie then add ice cream, whipped topping, and sprinkles.
