How To Make Witch Hat Peanut Butter Cookies for Halloween

Witch Hat Cookies Recipe
  1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Whisk together the flour, baking powder, and baking soda. Set aside.
  3. In a separate bowl, beat the sugar, brown sugar, peanut butter, and butter until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the egg, vanilla, and purple food coloring. Beat to combine.
  5. Add the dry ingredients. Beat until well mixed.
  6. Use a small cookie scoop to scoop out balls of dough. Roll each dough ball in the purple sprinkles and place on the prepared baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 10 to 13 minutes or until the edges are golden brown but the center is cooked but still soft.
  8. Immediately after removing the cookies from the oven, press one Hershey Kiss into the top of each cookie.
  9. Allow the cookies to cool on the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire cooling rack to cool completely.

Substitutions & Variations

  • Use premade cookie dough. If you’re running short on time or don’t want to make your own cookies from scratch, use store bought cookie dough as a short cut.
  • Experiment with different cookie flavors. Use your favorite cookie recipe, add some sprinkles, and the chocolate to create the witch cookies.
  • We use purple food coloring but if you’d like to make the cookies another color, just swap out the food coloring. Orange is a fun one too! Same goes for sprinkles!
