Panini sandwiches are one of my favorites. It’s typically warm goodness in sandwich form and they are easy to put together. They are perfect for lunch, dinner, or a snack. You can even make them as an appetizer for parties if you wish.
Easy Turkey Avocado Panini
Panini with Turkey and Avocado
I love making this turkey avocado panini sandwich for a quick lunch on our homeschool days. We will also make them on those busy days when we come home just to grab a bite to eat.
Items Needed:
Tomato: This avocado and turkey panini uses 3 thin slices of tomato. Using slices that are too thick can get messy and give you an overpowering tomato flavor. The tomato can be left out if you prefer.
Turkey Lunch Meat: Oven-roasted turkey or honey turkey will work. It’s based on preference, so use your favorite flavor. We often buy turkey lunch meat because the kids love making turkey cheese melts.
Avocado: A small avocado is all you need. Thin slices work the best but if you prefer to cut them into small tiny chunks you can do that as well.
Tuscan Bread: Sliced Tuscan bread gives the turkey avocado panini sandwich a nice touch. If you don’t have Tuscan bread, you can use what you have on hand or your favorite. Texas toast is always good or you can use homemade bread.
Mayo: The mayo flavor will bring the sandwich together. This recipe uses just a tablespoon of mayo but if you are a huge mayo fan, you can add a bit more.
Turkey and Avocado Panini Sandwich
This recipe makes 1 sandwich. You can easily make more than 1 by doubling the ingredients to fit the number of avocado turkey paninis you want.
- 3 thin slices of tomato
- 4 slices turkey (oven-roasted or honey turkey)
- 1 small avocado, sliced thin
- 2 slices Tuscan bread
- 1 tablespoon mayo
Instructions:
Spread the mayo on the bread.
Add the tomato, turkey, and then the slices of avocado.
Turn on the panini press and let it warm up.
Place the sandwich onto the press and cook for 2 to 3 minutes until the bread is toasted.
Variations
As mentioned above, you can substitute or take out some of the ingredients. If you don’t like tomato, you can leave it out and still enjoy the turkey avocado sandwich.
The type of turkey can be swapped as well. We prefer the oven-roasted turkey lunch meat but any will work.
Serve them up with some homemade potato chips or a side of your choice.
