Cardboard Cone Santa Craft for Kids
This cardboard cone Santa craft uses pom poms, googly eyes, cardboard cones, paper mache, and mini Santa hats for a fun holiday craft for kids.
Easy Santa Cone Craft
A fun Christmas craft the kids can make while they’re on break! These easy Santa cones are fun and creative.
You can also turn them into Christmas tree ornaments!
Supplies Needed
- Paper Mache cones (Hobby Lobby)
- mini Santa hat (Hobby Lobby)
- beige Paint
- foam paint brush
- ½ inch white pom pom balls
- hot glue or glue dots
- googly eyes
- red buttons
- ribbon (if you’re wanting to make ornaments)
How To Make The Pom Pom Santa Cardboard Craft
- Paint the paper mache cone with beige paint. Allow to dry.
- Add a mini Santa hat to each cone, attaching with hot glue.
- Attach pom poms around the back of the head and to create a beard in the front.
- To create a face, add googly eyes and insert a button in between the pom poms as a mouth. I recommend gluing the button to the pom pom and the cone so that it says.
If you want to turn it into a Christmas ornament:
Carefully use a thick needle (like a darning needle) to pierce through the top of the cone. Thread the hole with ribbon. Tie the loose ends of the ribbon together to form a hanging loop.
You can also use glue or tie the ribbon around the hat to create a hanging loop. This isn’t as sturdy so you’ll want to make sure there is plenty of glue to hold it on.
My kids have also tied the ribbon to the top of the ball on the hat and created a loop that way. This does hold if the ribbon around the ball is tied tight and the hat is glued well onto the cardboard cone.
