Fun Thanksgiving Day Games To Play with the Family
These fun Thanksgiving day games will be a great way to entertain friends and family at your Thanksgiving celebration.
Last month, we shared some fun Halloween party games so I wanted to make sure we had something set up for Thanksgiving. There are often a lot of kids that come to the Thanksgiving gathering and keeping them entertained can be tricky. This is especially true after they’ve had a long day of visiting family or tend to get cranky after they have enjoyed a big meal.
Luckily, we have found that coming up with some fun Thanksgiving Day games can make the day a whole lot better. It also helps keep the kids from getting bored.

Printable Thanksgiving Games
Printable games are as easy as printing and playing. That’s why we love them so much. There’s little to no prep work that needs to be done and it can be a game that both kids and adults can participate in. Although, it does seem to be the most popular with kids.

Yam or Potato Race
This is a fun Thanksgiving game to play with the family. Each member of the family can race each other to see who can get the potato or yam to the finish line.
To set up the game area, simply mark a start and finish line. Have participants use a spoon or spatula to try and push the potato or yam from start to finish. The first person to get it over the line wins.
You never know which direction your potato or yam is going to go which makes this one of the best fun Thanksgiving Day games that’s full of laughs.
Would You Rather Thanksgiving Game
“Would You Rather” is a fun game that can be played with the family. It is also an easy get that can quickly be set up.
To create your own at home, simply write some would you rather questions on a piece of paper, fold it, and drop it into a container. Each person pulls out a card and answers the would you rather question.
You can choose any type of question, but in our experience, one of the most popular Thanksgiving-themed would you rather question is: Would you rather be a turkey or a chicken? I’m not sure why it’s so popular, but it seems to be on the list every year.
Being Thankful Game
To play this game, all you need is some paper and a jar. It’s really simple to play. To get started, have everyone write something they are thankful for on a piece of paper then place it into the jar.
Once everyone has written what they are thankful for, have each person come up to draw out one piece of paper. They can read what is on the card and everyone can guess who wrote it.
Thanksgiving Scavenger Hunt
You can easily create your own Thanksgiving themed scavenger hunt game at home. To create your own, simply make a list of fall or Thanksgiving items that may be around the house. The kids will then be able to go find these items and write down their location or check them off the list.
