This is one of our family’s favorite recipes. There’s never any left when we make it and for those who like a little spice, this one will hit the spot.
When the beef isn’t on sale this easy 5 ingredient Italian beef can be not so budget friendly. But, if you are lucky and do get the chuck roast on sale, stock up on it! You’ll definitely need it because if you like Italian beef, you’re going to want to make this one over and over!
Slow Cooker Italian Beef

Once in a while you gotta splurge right? So, our splurge for the week was to make a whole bunch of this Italian beef and eat it as leftovers for the next few days.
Easy 5 Ingredient Italian Beef in the Slow Cooker
This easy 5 ingredient Italian beef recipe makes 6-8 servings depending on how much you fill a sandwich with. We however like to eat it right out of the bowl. No hoagie rolls, no buns, nothing.
We get to enjoy the full flavor when we do it that way and it’s hard to get the kids to eat bread. Unless, it’s a roll, banana bread, or toast for BLT’s.
How to Make This Easy 5 Ingredient Italian Beef in the Crockpot
I know we’ve mentioned this a few times, but you only need 5 ingredients!
While this recipe makes enough to feed at least 6-8 people, you can halve the recipe to make less.
- 2 pkg Chuck Roast (2-3 lbs each)
- 2 packages of Louie’s Italian Beef Seasoning
- 1/2 c. Mild Banana Pepper Rings
- 32 oz of Beef Broth
- 1 Jar of Whole Pepperoncini + the juice
Cooking Italian Beef in the Crockpot
Take all of the ingredients and add them to the crockpot.

Cook on low for about 8 hours, or until the beef is tender and you can easily shred it with a fork.
Depending on the meat quality, sometimes it takes a little longer than 8 hours.
Once the meat is tender and cooked all the way through, shred the beef and place it back into the crockpot.
Once it’s shredded, turn to high heat, and cook for about 15-30 more minutes. We do this so that it cooks the beef a little more and becomes as flavorful as it can.
