Peanut Butter Apple Slices with Fruit

This easy peanut butter apple slices recipe is perfect for when you want a healthy snack, treat, or party appetizer. Top them with fruit or sprinkles for even more fun.

Ingredients
  

  • 4 apples
  • 1 c peanut butter more if needed
  • Fruit or suggested toppings

Instructions
 

  • Wash the apples.
  • Slice the apple into ½ inch slices. Throw away the top and bottom slice.
  • Remove the center of the apples with a small biscuit/cookie cutter, using a knife to cut around the core, or use a melon baller.
  • Use a butter knife to spread the peanut butter on each apple.
  • Sprinkle your favorite toppings on top of the peanut butter.

Notes

  • These are best served immediately. However, you can pre-slice the apples in advance. Sprinkle lemon juice on the top and bottom of the apples to prevent browning. Pat them dry with a paper towel before adding the peanut butter and toppings.
  • Don’t cut the apples too thin. You want them a little on the thicker side, about ½ inch, so that you can easily spread the peanut butter and add your toppings without the apples breaking.
