- 1/2 c sugar
- 1 lb package blueberries
- 6 packaged shortcakes
- whipped topping
Wash your fresh blueberries and then place them into a bowl. Now we are going to make the fresh blueberry shortcake sauce.
Cover the blueberries with half a cup of sugar and smash them with a potato masher. If you don’t have a masher, a wooden spoon can work but it’s a lot more work to smash the blueberries.
Place the smashed blueberries into the fridge for at least two hours. This will allow them to soak up the sugar completely and let even more juice come out.
Place a mini shortcake on the plate and add some of the blueberry mixture and whipped topping.
Then add another shortcake on top, and top with more of the blueberry mixture and whipped topping.
