Green Beans with Brown Sugar and Dijon Mustard

A quick 15 minute side dish recipe for any occasion. These green beans with brown sugar and Dijon mustard are delicious and easy to make.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 ½ tablespoon dijon mustard
  • 1 ½ tablespoon brown sugar
  • 4 c green beans
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon pepper
  • ½ tablespoon butter
  • c water

Instructions
 

  • Trim the ends off the fresh green beans and place them in a pan with ⅓ cup of water.
  • Set to medium-high heat and saute the green beans for 6 to 8 minutes. Add in the butter and saute for another 3 minutes.
  • Test the green beans. They should still be crisp but tender enough to eat. If not cook for a few more minutes until they have reached your desired doneness.
  • Then, lower heat to low and toss in brown sugar and dijon mustard. Stir thoroughly. The sauce will caramelize onto the green beans.
  • Sprinkle with salt and pepper and remove from heat.
