  • 1 red velvet cake, baked and cooled
  • 1 vanilla cake mixed with green food coloring, baked and cooled
  • 3 cups whipped cream
  • 1 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions
 

  • Prepare the cakes according to box or recipe directions. Before baking, add a few drops of green food coloring to the white cake. Once baked, cool completely, then crumble into chunks.
  • In a bowl, beat cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth. Fold in whipped cream to create the filling.
  • In a trifle dish, layer red cake, cream mixture, green cake, cream mixture, repeating until full.
  • Finish with a layer of cream and decorate with red and green cake crumbs.
  • Chill for at least 1 hour before serving.
